Andrew Hoffmann

Director – Real Assets, North Carolina Investment Authority 

Andrew Hoffmann is the Director for Real Assets and is a member of the NCIA Investment Committee. Andy joined NCIA in 2025 and brings 36 years of investment experience spanning power/utility and infrastructure investment banking, real assets portfolio management, and capital raising, having worked in New York, Hong Kong, Singapore, London, Palo Alto, and Newport Beach with firms that include Merrill Lynch, JP Morgan, Brookfield Asset Management, and PIMCO. Real Assets represent approximately 18% of the total NCIA portfolio and Andy is focused on infrastructure, energy, and natural resources. Andy has a BS in Economics and Political Science with distinction from the University of Wisconsin – Madison.

The North Carolina Investment Authority ("NCIA"):

The North Carolina Investment Authority ("NCIA"), created in 2025 under N.C.G.S. § 147-71.1, is responsible for managing investment programs for the NC Retirement System assets. NCIA is governed by a Board of Directors, consisting of five members, who oversee a Chief Investment Officer, responsible for managing and directing the NCIA's investment functions. The NCIA Investment Committee is the decision making body for investment allocations and risk positioning. NCIA actively manages approximately $148 billion in pension assets.
