Founded in 2013, Grey Rock Investment Partners is a U.S.-based private equity firm with more than $1.4 billion in assets under management. The firm is an energy specialist that invests across the energy value chain with two distinct private equity fund strategies: natural resources and net zero opportunities.

Grey Rock’s Net Zero Opportunities funds make equity investments in businesses which capitalize upon decarbonization and environmental stewardship. The funds seek to make opportunistic PE returns while having a meaningful impact on carbon.

Leveraging its energy expertise, Grey Rock invests in businesses that facilitate the brown-to-green transition through the development of real assets that provide tangible value and long-term stability. Prior investments have included companies focused on carbon capture and sequestration, industrial electrification, and emissions abatement. The funds look to avoid the risks associated with early-stage energy technologies and instead seek to acquire companies with proven processes and revenue models.
