Alex Murray is Director of Infrastructure Research and Strategy within Unified Global Alternatives (UGA) at UBS Asset Management (UBS-AM), a role Alex assumed in April 2025. Alex leads sector and thematic research on the unlisted infrastructure asset class, providing insights that shape investment strategies and anticipate key market and industry return drivers.

Before joining UBS-AM, Alex served as Vice President and Head of Real Assets at Preqin, a part of BlackRock and leading provider of private markets data and research. In that role, Alex managed teams and played a pivotal role in developing a commercially successful institutional research product. Earlier in Alex’s career, Alex was a Senior Analyst at the UK Cabinet Office Infrastructure and Projects Authority, overseeing the monitoring of UK Public-Private Partnership investments.

Prior to this, Alex held a tenured academic position at University College London’s Bartlett Faculty, following an earlier position in corporate finance with KPMG in London.
