Ali Miraj
Ali Miraj is an infrastructure financier, broadcaster, social entrepreneur and DJ. He is Head of Infrastructure Sponsor Coverage at Rabobank co-ordinating transactions across the Energy, Transport & Mobility, Digital and Food & Agri sectors. He was previously Global Head of Infrastructure Sponsor Coverage at ING and led transactions in infrastructure finance for many years. Prior to that he worked in Syndicated Finance covering the TMT, Transportation and Energy sectors. He originally qualified as a Chartered Accountant.
He presents his weekly shows on LBC Radio (Sat/Sun 12pm-3pm) and regularly appears on Sky News to comment on domestic political developments and international affairs. In 2012, he founded the Contrarian Prize to recognise the independence, courage and sacrifice of British public figures whose ideas challenge the status quo. A former Conservative Parliamentary Candidate, he was first elected as a Councillor at the age of 23. He served as an adviser to the Conservative Foreign Affairs Team from 2001-2003 and as a Board Member of the party’s Policy Commissions on Quality of Life and International and National Security (2005-2007).
He is a trained House music DJ and has had multiple residencies and played at leading venues around the world. He is national Vice President of CPRE, the countryside charity, and Senior Warden and a Liveryman of the Worshipful Company of International Bankers. He holds an MSc In Politics of the World Economy and BSc Econ (International Relations) both from the London School of Economics.
