Anurag Agarwal

Anurag Agarwal (Dubai), is Managing Director and Head of Portfolio Management for the Global Transportation Group in Alternatives, based in Dubai UAE. A senior member of the group and voting member of the investment committee, he is a founding member of the group's flagship open-ended strategy, which has raised and deployed over $8 billion in AUM across more than 180 transportation investments since 2017 and is currently the 6th largest shipowner in the world. With over 25 years of experience in deal execution, investment management, and institutional capital raising, Anurag has built one of the sector's deepest transportation investment track records across several decades. He currently serves as Chairman of the Board of OSM Thome, a leading global ship management company. Earlier in his career, Anurag was Managing Director and Partner at Regent Private Capital, a family office, where he led direct investments across oil & gas, pharmaceuticals, services, and transportation. He began his career in investment banking at JPMorgan and Credit Suisse, executing M&A and private placement transactions. Anurag holds a dual MBA from Boston University (Beta Gamma Sigma) and a Bachelor's degree in Mechanical Engineering from Pune University, India. He has also been a lecturer and Director of Faculty at Boston University's Graduate School of Business, teaching Entrepreneurial Finance and Strategy from 2002-2012, and invested in and cofounded several social impact and technology startups.
