Casimir Lorenz
Dr. Casimir Lorenz is Managing Director for Central Europe at Aurora Energy Research. He advises investors, utilities, and developers on transactions and strategic planning, with a strong focus on assessing project, market, and regulatory risks across European markets. His experience includes due diligence support on transactions across the full value chain of the energy sector focussing on utilities, IPPs, cross-technology portfolios and infrastructure. He has also guided companies on market entry strategies throughout Europe, helping them navigate commercial uncertainties and evolving policy environments. He has furthermore supported government, utilities and NGOs on market design.
Before joining Aurora in 2018, he worked at the German Institute for Economic Research (DIW Berlin) and the German Advisory Council on the Environment. He studied industrial engineering and completed a PhD in economics at TU Berlin, focusing on power market modelling.
