Daniel Lau is a Portfolio Manager at the California State Teachers’ Retirement System (CalSTRS). He co-leads the Sustainable Investment and Stewardship Strategies (SISS) investment portfolio. The SISS investment portfolio is an opportunistic and unconstrained allocation designed to source and invest into sustainable investment opportunities across the risk-return spectrum from infrastructure to venture capital. Infrastructure investments within the SISS Portfolio focus on climate solutions that decarbonize the real economy, primarily investments into the energy transition. SISS infrastructure investments target sectors such as clean energy, transmission, storage, hydrogen, biofuels, industrial decarbonization solutions, mobility, and digital infrastructure.
 
Prior to joining CalSTRS, Daniel led the North American Structured Finance team for VINCI Concessions, structuring the equity investment and debt financing for VINCI’s infrastructure pursuits in the toll road, rail, and airport sectors. Prior to VINCI Concessions, Daniel worked within KPMG's Global Infrastructure practice advising clients on commercial and financial due diligence mandates within the energy and transport sectors.
