Erik Strømsø

Erik Strømsø is CEO and Co-Founder of BW ESS, a leading developer, owner, and operator of Battery Energy Storage Systems (BESS).

Founded in 2021, the company currently has more than 540MWh of operational battery capacity and around 11GWh under construction. Through greenfield origination and development partnerships, BW ESS has grown a multi-gigawatt development pipeline and is active across Europe and Australia. BW ESS is also a major investor in BW Velora, a developer of high-value digital infrastructure projects with a particular focus on data centers in the Nordics and Canada.

Part of BW Group, BW ESS builds on decades of global infrastructure experience, takes a long-term view of projects, partnerships, and focuses on unlocking value throughout the energy storage asset lifecycle.

Previously, Mr. Strømsø was Senior Equity Partner at the Nordic investment bank Pareto Securities, a leading energy-focused investment bank, where he focused on financing of energy and infrastructure assets.
