Izzet Bensusan
Izzet Bensusan is the Founder and CEO of Captona, an energy-transition investment firm focused on building and investing in power and energy infrastructure across emerging markets. He has extensive experience investing in, transacting, and managing energy assets across solar, wind, fuel cells, renewable natural gas (RNG), energy storage, and other next-generation technologies.
At Captona, he has built a multidisciplinary team and a portfolio exceeding $3 billion in assets, supported by deep sector expertise, internal technical and asset-management capabilities, and investment experience across multiple technologies.
Mr. Bensusan also founded Karbone, an energy-transition commodity trading and brokerage firm serving utilities, developers, and institutional investors across global environmental and energy markets. He continues to play an active strategic role in the firm’s growth and market expansion.
He is also the Founder and Chairman of Noreva, an AI-driven energy commodity price-forecasting platform covering power, fuels, renewable credits, and carbon markets.
Mr. Bensusan holds an MBA from Columbia Business School and a BA/MA from Brandeis University.
