Dr. Peter Brodehser is a board member of the German Association for Alternative Investments (BAI), representing institutional investors across private markets and alternative assets. He has more than 25 years of experience spanning banking, asset management and the institutional investment market.

Over the past decade, he has built and led infrastructure and illiquid asset investment platforms, structured complex transactions and overseen the deployment of more than €6bn across private markets. His experience includes alternative investments, private debt and equity, and infrastructure and energy financing, with a focus on long-term capital allocation for pension funds, insurers and foundations.

In his role, Peter works closely with global LPs on portfolio construction, diversification, regulation and market developments. He regularly moderates senior-level discussions and speaks on infrastructure investing and institutional portfolio strategy.

The German Association for Alternative Investments (BAI) represents institutional investors active across global private markets and alternative asset classes. The association provides a platform for long-term allocators, including pension funds, insurers and foundations, investing in private equity, private debt, infrastructure and real assets.

BAI supports LPs on portfolio construction, diversification, regulatory developments and market trends affecting alternative investments. It facilitates dialogue between institutional investors, asset managers and policymakers, contributing investor perspectives to regulatory and industry discussions at European and international level.

Through research, surveys, publications and industry events, BAI promotes transparency, market insight and best practice for institutional allocators. Its work aims to strengthen the role of alternative investments in long-term portfolios and support the development of resilient and well-functioning private markets.
