Ralf Rank is the co-founder of Reinova Partners, a specialist mid-market energy transition infrastructure investment firm with a value-add focus on company building and business transformation.

Prior to co-founding Reinova, Ralf spent 17 years at Brookfield where he held senior investing and operational leadership roles building out the renewable power, infrastructure and private equity businesses, including Chief Investment Officer, Power & Utilities and CEO, Brookfield Renewable Europe and led many investments, platform building and transformation and sale initiatives across Europe and North America across key energy transition sectors including renewable power, district energy, waste-based biofuels and carbon capture. 

He started his career on the energy trading desk at Ontario Power Generation and at Scotia Capital focusing on project financing, regulated utility M&A and the independent power sector.  

Ralf holds the CFA designation and degrees in Mechanical Engineering and Economics from the University of Waterloo and studied energy systems in Sweden.

Reinova Partners is a newly established energy transition investment firm co-founded by two former executives of Brookfield Asset Management who worked together since 2005. Our approach is to invest where we can add more than capital by actively supporting management teams and value creation through building platform companies or executing business transformations. We invest in areas where we can leverage our experience in sectors such as clean electricity,  decarbonization of industry and built environment, clean fuels and other sustainable solutions or enablers of the energy transition with current activities in mid-life renewables, district energy, heat pumps and carbon capture infrastructure.
