Lei Zhang is the Founder and Chief Executive Officer of Envision, a global green-technology leader. Since founding Envision in 2007, Lei has scaled the business from a wind turbine manufacturer into a diversified energy systems leader spanning smart wind, energy storage, Ai-enabled energy orchestration and green hydrogen/ammonia infrastructure with a presence on six continents.

Under his leadership, Envision has delivered multiple industry-first commercial projects, including the world’s largest AI-enabled off-grid green hydrogen and ammonia plant, capable of producing 320,000 tons annually with planned scale to 1.5 million tons, built within the Chifeng Net-Zero Industrial Park – a model for decarbonizing industrial energy at scale. 

Lei has also expanded Envision’s platform through strategic capability build-outs, positioning the company to capture growth across renewable energy stacks and energy transition infrastructure.

Lei’s leadership extends beyond execution: he was named one of TIME’s Most Influential Climate Leaders (2025) and is the recipient of the Energy Institute President’s Award for 2026, reflecting his impact on global energy transition and sustainable infrastructure investment.
