Erik Miedema

Erik Miedema is the founder and CEO of Climax, a carbon accounting platform for private equity funds and their portfolio companies. He studied Computer Science and Economics at Erasmus University Rotterdam and spent 20 years in the energy industry before founding Climax.

Erik focuses on the strategic role of carbon in portfolio value creation. He explores how private equity firms can use carbon insights to identify operational efficiencies, guide capital allocation and strengthen portfolio companies’ competitive positioning. Through Climax, he helps investment teams connect decarbonisation with business performance, embedding carbon considerations into portfolio strategy and long-term value creation.
