Dr. Mathias Makowski joined Deutsche Private Equity in November 2022. Previously, he was Head of Corporate Sustainability and Engineering at Faber-Castell, where he was responsible for developing and implementing a group-wide sustainability strategy with a focus on decarbonization, sustainable raw material sourcing and ESG reporting. Previously, Mathias worked for Pöyry [MM] PLC. (now AFRY) advising industrial clients in Southeast Asia and Oceania with a focus on performance improvement, investment support, benchmarking and corporate strategy. Mathias studied wood science and technology at the University of Hamburg, where he also received his Ph.D.
