Michael works with portfolio companies to identify and deliver sustainability value across CPP Investments private markets. With 20 years across various sustainability roles, Michael has a cross-sector, cross-industry experience in sustainability strategy and implementation.
Prior to joining CPP Investments in 2022, Michael was head of ESG and Impact at DPI, an emerging markets private equity firm where he developed the GP’s ESG and Impact Management system and worked with portfolio companies to establish their sustainability practices. Before that, he worked in the mergers and acquisitions team at ERM carrying out due diligence and impact assessments predominantly for the extractives industry. Michael also held environmental and community relations roles at Bechtel based on site in Iceland, Trinidad and Guinea.

Michael holds an MSc with distinction in Environmental Technology from Imperial College, London and a BSc in Zoology from James Cook University, Australia.
