Piyush Sanghai

Piyush Sanghai invests in impact private markets for HSBC Asset Management. He evaluates primaries, secondaries and co-investments across private equity and sustainable infrastructure that aim for climate impact. He has around 20 years of experience in private investments, energy transition and climate tech.

Previously, Piyush was a key member of the investment team at Just Climate, part of Generation Investment Management, making growth investments in decarbonisation. He also held a principal investments role for Aviva Infra Equity at Future Biogas, a UK renewable energy business, which gave him hands-on exposure to energy transition infrastructure in the UK/Europe. Earlier in his career he led private equity and M&A transactions at leading financial institutions. These include Morgan Stanley and Royal Bank of Canada where he covered energy, natural resources and infrastructure-linked sectors.

Piyush holds an MBA in Finance and a degree in Commerce and Accounting from the University of Mumbai.
