As the head of the Private Market’s team, Joe oversees ClearAccess, Clearstead’s Private Markets platform. The Private Markets team is responsible for sourcing, evaluating and monitoring Private Market and alternative strategies, including hedge funds, real assets, private equity and private credit. In addition, Joe is responsible for overseeing the firm’s discretionary Private Market portfolios. He also works closely with clients and consultants to develop and implement Private Market investment programs that meet the needs of Clearstead’s advisory clients.  He is a voting member of both the firm’s Investment Research Committee and heads the ClearAccess Investment Committee.

Joe has over 20 years of experience in the investment management business. Prior to joining Clearstead in 2012, Joe covered the telecommunications, media and technology sectors as an analyst at the Ohio Public Employees Retirement System. He has also worked as a research analyst covering the credit and equity markets in various roles at JPMorgan and served as an officer in the United States Marine Corps.  

Joe is a CFA charter holder and holds the Chartered Alternative Investment Analyst (CAIA) designation. He has an MBA with Distinction from Cornell University’s Johnson School of Management and received a BA in Economics from the University of Chicago.
