Mike Fang is the Founder and Chief Investment Officer of Kronyx Capital Partners, an Outsourced Chief Investment Officer (OCIO) firm he launched in December 2025. With over 20 years of portfolio management experience, Mr. Fang specializes in private markets, co-investment programs, and thematic investment strategies focused on long-term global trends.

Prior to founding Kronyx Capital, Mr. Fang served as a Senior Portfolio Manager at the Maryland State Retirement & Pension System (MSRPS) from 2019 to 2025. During his tenure, he was responsible for the system’s private markets and co-investment program and served as co-head of the Thematic Investment team, where he identified future investment opportunities driven by structural shifts in the global economy.

Before his time at MSRPS, Mr. Fang was a Senior Fund Manager at MissionSquare Retirement (formerly ICMA-RC), where he developed and launched alternative private equity funds within target-date suites and managed strategic and tactical asset allocations across all major asset classes. He also spent several years as an Investment Strategist at T. Rowe Price. His technical expertise spans illiquid alternative product design, portfolio optimization, derivative pricing, and complex risk modeling.

Mr. Fang holds an MBA from the Yale School of Management. He also earned an MS in Financial Mathematics from the University of Chicago, an MS in Computer Science from the University of Illinois at Chicago, and an MS in Aerospace Engineering from Purdue University.
