Mike Lazorik
Mike Lazorik is a Director in Private Equity at the Teacher Retirement System of Texas, where he joined in 2010 to launch their co-investment program. Since then, TRS has committed almost $50B into PE funds and investments and grown total PE exposure from $17B to $48B. Since joining TRS, the co-invest team has committed $14B across almost 400 unique investments. Presently, Mr. Lazorik serves on the PE Investment Committee and he is primarily responsible for all Technology direct and co-investments across private strategies, including VC, Growth and Crypto.
Prior to joining the Teacher Retirement System of Texas, Mr. Lazorik served as Director of Corporate Development at BMC Software. Prior to that Mike worked in various leadership roles at Dell Technologies, including co-founding Dell Ventures, Director for the Office of the CTO and Director of Corporate Finance/ Treasury. Notably, he led the Series C in VMWare (acquired by AVGO) and Mellanox (acquired by NVDA) as part of Dell Ventures $1B of investments from 1999-2003, and drove the launch of Dell Financial Services during Dell’s early years as a public company. Prior to that, Mr. Lazorik worked in Fixed Income Derivatives at Lehman Brothers.
Mike received his BBA degree in Finance and Marketing from The University of Texas at Austin, while also working at Dell as one of their first Finance interns. In addition to seeking alpha through innovation, Mike is an avid wingfoiler, fly-fisherman, mountain man and lover of all things outdoors with his family in Austin, Texas.
