Rob Mellema is a Managing Director in the Office of the CIO at CPP Investments where he leads the Private Equity and Real Assets team that oversees the Fund’s allocation to Private Equity, Real Estate, Infrastructure and Sustainable Energies. Rob joined CPP Investments in 2008 in Direct Private Equity before becoming a founding member of the Fund’s Energy group where he led the energy infrastructure team. Rob has led multiple landmark investments at CPPIB including the Fund’s first control investment as well as one of its earliest platform investments. In 2021, Rob joined the Office of the CIO to advance the Fund’s work on Real Assets, investment process and governance, and more recently Private Equity. Previously, Rob held positions with UBS and the Boston Consulting Group. Rob holds a Bachelor of Commerce degree from Queen’s University and an MBA from The Wharton School of the University of Pennsylvania where he was a Palmer Scholar. Rob has been a member of various investment committees and portfolio company boards and is currently a director at Wolf Midstream.
