Tom Mitchell is a Partner of the firm, and North American Head of the Sustainable and Impact Investing (SII) Solutions platform.

Tom joined the firm in 2007 and leads an investment team that partners with mission-driven institutions and families to build and manager sophisticated investment portfolios designed to meet critical financial and client alignment objectives.

Throughout his career Tom has been a leader and champion for the growth of our global SII capabilities and expertise. As North American Head of the firm’s SII Solutions platform, Tom leads a team that enables clients to cultivate high-caliber and sustainable investment portfolios. In this capacity he collaborates with colleagues to advance insights, expertise, and best in class implementation of SII investing. He also collaborates with firm leadership to shape and execute business strategy and he represents the firm in external audiences and among key industry and community partners.

Prior to joining the firm, Tom served as an analyst investing impact capital with Agora Partnerships in Central America, and as a consultant to the World Bank where he evaluated educational investments in Brazil. He began his career in technology marketing, served two years as a Team Leader in AmeriCorps NCCC, helped launch the ZOOB play system from a start-up stage, and spent four years as the Director of Program Development for KaBOOM!, a community-focused non-profit.

Tom received his MBA from Duke University (CASE Scholar), his Master of Regional Planning from University of North Carolina at Chapel Hill, and his AB from Stanford University. Tom was a scholarship athlete at Stanford and a member of the 1993 NCAA Champion Water Polo team.
