Chris Sugden
Chris Sugden is the Managing Partner of growth equity firm Edison Partners and Chairman of the investment committee. A former successful entrepreneur, he has operated on both sides of the table, leading sales, product, finance, business strategy and capital formation. He brings investment and operating expertise to growth-stage companies.
Sugden has been a leading executive and investor in fintech and software for more than 25 years—before fintech was fintech. His investment experience and exits span payments, capital markets, and wealth management. At Edison, he has led dozens of new investments and more than 60 financing rounds, served as Director of over 26 portfolio companies, and sits on the boards of six Edison fintech companies.
Previously, he was Executive VP and division CEO for an electronic bill payment and presentment, raising multiple venture rounds and completing an acquisition while growing revenue over 5x. He began his career at PricewaterhouseCoopers in Boston.
