Ignacio is a Partner with the Rise Fund at TPG Capital, based in San Francisco, focusing his time on operations within the Rise and Rise Climate funds. During his time at TPG, Mr. Giraldo has been involved in deals in climate change solutions, education, food and agriculture, among others. Prior to joining TPG, Mr. Giraldo worked in management consulting, finance, startups and the corporate world, including Nike, Diageo, Goldman Sachs, MercadoLibre, and SABMiller. Mr. Giraldo has led businesses in the range of $1 million to $1 billion in his capacity as a general manager and CEO. He also ran sales operations ranging from three sales employees to 7,000 employees and $6 billion in sales. Mr. Giraldo has a passion for strategy, operations, revenue growth, including sales and marketing, pricing, channel strategy, and most importantly, people. In his tenure at TPG, he has served on multiple boards of directors including UBQ Materials, Teachers of Tomorrow, Philz Coffee, Mendocino Farms, Beauty Counter, Papa John’s United and SmartSweets (in addition to Board Observer seats at Crunch Fitness, Presence Learning, Amspec, Miratech and Dreambox Learning). Mr. Giraldo holds Bachelor’s degrees in Industrial Engineering and Mathematics from Universidad de los Andes in Bogota, Colombia, and an M.B.A. from the Stanford University Graduate School of Business.  In his spare time he loves mentoring and advising young talent, in addition to fitness, golf, traveling and reading.
