Todd Markson

Partner, Tech Opportunities, Bain Capital

Todd Markson is an Operating Partner at Bain Capital within the Tech Opportunities Fund, where he leads value creation efforts across the portfolio and partners with management teams to support their key initiatives. In addition to working across the portfolio, Todd also serves on the board of HST Pathways. 

Prior to joining Bain Capital, Todd was Chief Strategy and Operating Officer at Cengage, a multi-billion dollar, Private Equity backed (KKR, Apax, Searchlight), global education and technology company, where he led strategy, corporate development, channel, pricing, procurement and supply chain. Before Cengage, he was a management strategy consultant in London, Dubai and Boston, most recently as a Senior Principal in the Technology and Private Equity practices of BCG, with a focus on Go-To-Market. Earlier in his career, Todd was a technology entrepreneur in Silicon Valley, co-founding and successfully exiting education technology and information services companies. 

Todd received an MBA from the University of Michigan, where he graduated with Honors. He graduated with a BA in Political Science from Brown University.
