Adam T. Wise is Senior Managing Director and Head of U.S. Portfolio Management at John Hancock Life Insurance Company (Manulife), where he oversees portfolio strategy, asset allocation, and risk management for the U.S. General Account across public and private fixed income, structured products, derivatives, and alternative investments. He leads a team responsible for portfolio construction, liability‑aware investment strategies, performance oversight, and governance across insurance and institutional mandates. Adam has been with Manulife since 2000 and brings more than two decades of experience managing large, complex portfolios through multiple market cycles. Previously, he led the Natural Resources and Sustainable Solutions team, managing a $20 billion portfolio and investing over $12 billion across energy and materials‑related sectors. Adam holds an MBA from Boston College and a bachelor’s degree in finance from Santa Clara University.
