Art Vinokur
Art Vinokur is a portfolio manager and head of manager research for Franklin Templeton Investment Solutions. In his role as head of manager research, he oversees the team responsible for sourcing, due diligence, and monitoring of funds and strategies across public markets, hedge funds, and private alternatives. He also serves as a portfolio manager on several absolute return portfolios for institutional and retail clients and is also a member of the Absolute Return Investment Committee.
Most recently, Mr. Vinokur served as a managing director and portfolio manager for K2 Advisors, an alternative investment firm that merged with Franklin Templeton Investment Solutions. He joined K2 Advisors in 2004 and held various roles, including head of strategy and portfolio manager, overseeing the firm’s investments in several alternative strategies.
Before joining K2 Advisors, Mr. Vinokur interned as a research associate at the University of Maryland Foundation, where he helped select and evaluate managers for the endowment's alternative investment portfolio. In 2003, he consulted for K2 Advisors, studying the impact of hedge funds' size and age on their performance.
Mr. Vinokur received an MBA with a concentration in Finance from Robert H. Smith School of Business at the University of Maryland, and graduated summa cum laude and Phi Beta Kappa from McDaniel College with Bachelor of Arts degrees in Economics and Business Administration. He is a Chartered Alternative Investment Analyst (CAIA) charterholder.
