John Stephens
John Stephens is a Partner and Chief Financial Officer of Pomona, and is responsible for all aspects of the firm’s day-to-day finances and operations. John is a member of Pomona’s Investment Committee, and chairs its Valuation Committee. Before becoming CFO in 2015, John was based in Hong Kong and led the firm’s efforts in Asia. John previously was a co-founder of EM|Alternatives, a private equity fund-of-funds investing in Asia and emerging markets, and held other advisory and investment roles, including at Global Environment Fund. He began his career at the US Embassy in Moscow. John received an MBA from the Amos Tuck School of Business Dartmouth College and a BA from the University of Washington.
