Athina Van Melkebeke co-leads the European Antitrust and Foreign Investment practice at Kirkland & Ellis, based in the London and Brussels offices. Her practice focuses on antitrust law, particularly multijurisdictional merger control, cartel and abuse of dominance enforcement, and antitrust compliance. She also has extensive experience advising on foreign investment and foreign subsidies screening.
Athina has practiced in Brussels, Washington, D.C., and London, and has represented leading private equity firms as well as strategic clients in matters before the European Commission, the UK Competition and Markets Authority and the U.S. Department of Justice.
