Di Rifai
Di advises investors and boards making consequential decisions amid structural change. She develops plausible scenarios around clients’ goals and challenges, examining how changes in capital and value, the balance of power, and control over critical assets impact strategic plans. She synthesizes developments across technology, geopolitics, economics, capital and society, identifying inflection points and tracing second- and third-order consequences to inform decisions on capital allocation, exposure, timing and optionality.
An electrical engineer by training, Di has decades of experience spanning technology and global banking. Her banking career included M&A and capital markets, culminating in responsibility for an investment-products distribution business serving the institutional private wealth market across five continents and membership of the Executive Management Committee. She went on to build and lead advisory businesses in energy and infrastructure and, later, technology, serving private-capital investors, asset managers and universal owners.
Her published analyses, dating to 2011, examine cross-domain inflection points, including developments in the AI Economic Order. As Founder & Chair of Second-Order Foresight, Di brings this judgment to investor and board decisions. She has served on boards since 2007, testified before the SEC Investor Advisory Committee on AI regulation, undertaken 500+ speaking engagements, and her work has featured in the FT, Bloomberg and Reuters.
