Lorna joined Connection Capital in 2019 to build the firm’s burgeoning Funds business. Since joining the team, she has continued to grow the variety of managers and strategies offered to clients. The diversification benefit of adding funds to an alternatives portfolio is a key message that runs throughout her decision-making process. Over the last few years, she has had the privilege of working with top-performing managers who are specialists in their field, aligned with Connection Capital’s clients, with the purpose of delivering attractive risk-adjusted returns.

Lorna has enjoyed a wide and varied career, starting out in the challenging world of investment banking straight out of Glasgow University, joining Salomon Brothers as a graduate trainee in security arbitrage. She later moved to Bankers Trust and Deutsche Bank, where she specialised in structured credit and securitisations, before joining Raiffeisen as Head of the London Credit Team. She then made the decision to move into asset management, joining global manager Invesco, where she worked with private banks and strategic partners, covering alternative asset strategies, bespoke fund solutions and fund-linked structured products.
